02 Oct 2015

(HONG KONG) Dragonair has been named “Best Regional Airline” at the 26th Annual TTG Travel Awards Ceremony held in Bangkok on Thursday night (1 October). This is the sixth consecutive year the carrier has received this honour.

The TTG Travel Awards, presented by leading regional publisher TTG Travel Trade Publishing, have been recognising the luminaries of the travel industry since 1989. Awardees are determined by votes cast across the Asia Pacific region by print and online subscribers of TTG Asia, TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTGassociations, TTG–BTmice China and TTG Asia Luxury.

“We are delighted to be honoured at the TTG Travel Awards as the region’s best carrier for the sixth year running. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Dragonair, so receiving this award is timely acknowledgement of how far our airline has come over the past three decades,” said Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Algernon Yau.

“I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those in the travel industry who voted for Dragonair. This award demonstrates their clear recognition of the top-quality products and services provided by our airline. Sincere thanks also go to everyone in the great Dragonair team for their continued hard work in providing a superior travel experience to our passengers,” Mr Yau added.

As part of its efforts to provide the best-possible travel experience, in 2013 Dragonair embarked on an enhancement of the inflight products across its entire fleet. This has seen the introduction of new First Class, Business Class and Economy Class cabins together with a brand-new on-demand inflight entertainment system, StudioKA.

In addition to the product upgrade, Dragonair has also been expanding its network. The airline added Haneda as a destination in March and launched a twice-weekly service to Hiroshima in August, further strengthening its network in Asia. Dragonair has launched or resumed 17 destinations since April 2012. The airline will continue to expand its network and strengthen frequencies where possible, offering increased connectivity and greater convenience for customers travelling through Hong Kong.
