Cathay Pacific Signs Codeshare Agreement With British Airways

The codeshare agreement will see Cathay Pacific's "CX" added to British Airways' flights between London Heathrow and the four main UK regional airports. This will ensure greater accessibility and smoother connections for passengers travelling between Hong Kong and these cities. The new codeshare agreement replaces a similar agreement between Cathay Pacific and British Midland on these routes.

"Both airlines provide a very high quality of service and are dedicated to providing our customers with a premium product."

David Noyes, British Airways Director for Alliances, said: "British Airways is delighted to announce this new code-sharing arrangement with our oneworld partner, Cathay Pacific. It reflects how our two airlines are working more closely together for the benefit of our customers. Both carriers share the aim of providing a quality seamless travel experience, and this codesharing agreement is another development in achieving that aim."

Cathay Pacific and British Airways are both founder members of the oneworld global alliance. Their passengers already enjoy a number of benefits derived from the alliance, including the ability to earn and redeem frequent flyer rewards across the networks of all oneworld members, access to the airport lounges of all oneworld airlines, and a range of other benefits.

British Airways and Cathay Pacific are currently exploring a number of other ways in which they can work together to provide additional benefits to passengers.

The oneworld global airline alliance was launched on 1 February 1999. The current members of oneworld are American Airlines, British Airways, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia and Qantas Airways. Aer Lingus and LanChile will join the alliance later this year.
