Cathay Pacific services to Sapporo to resume on 8 September following airport re-opening

Cathay Pacific has been advised by the Japanese authorities that the international terminal at Sapporo New Chitose Airport (CTS) will re-open tomorrow morning (Saturday 8 September). The airport has been closed after an earthquake in Hokkaido.

Customers affected by the cancellation of Cathay Pacific services to and from Sapporo on 6 September will be rebooked onto flights CX580/CX581 (Hong Kong-CTS-Hong Kong) on 8 and 9 September. Larger aircraft will operate these flights to ensure sufficient seat availability to accommodate affected passengers. There are no Cathay Pacific flights scheduled to operate to and from Sapporo today, 7 September.

Customers are kindly requested to allow sufficient time to reach New Chitose Airport due to expected heavy traffic on the airport highway.

We would like to remind passengers that rebooking, rerouting, and refund charges will be waived for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on/before 6 September 2018 for travel with Cathay Pacific/Cathay Dragon with confirmed itineraries involving Sapporo between 6 September and 8 September 2018. Please view more details in our Special ticketing guidelines for Sapporo.

All customers scheduled to fly are urged to check Flight Status before proceeding to the airport. To ensure you receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email, please update contact details in Manage Booking.
