Cathay Pacific Serves Up Breakfast To Richmond Elementary School

Award-winning airline staff volunteers show true dedication to the community

(Vancouver, B.C.) – In support of Breakfast for Learning, Cathay Pacific staff volunteers showed the airline’s signature “straight from the heart” service today by delivering a healthy breakfast to 80 students at a Richmond school.

Specially prepared by the airline’s catering team, Cathay Pacific staff volunteers served a breakfast menu to students at William Cook Elementary, helping them begin their morning with proper nutrition, and energy to sustain them throughout the morning.

“We were pleased to work with Breakfast for Learning and commend our staff volunteers for their valuable contribution,” said Alex Shum, Vice President Canada for Cathay Pacific. “Many of our staff live and work in Richmond and Greater Vancouver so an opportunity to give back to those communities and help reinforce the message of adapting a healthy lifestyle and educating young people is of great importance to us.”

“We would like to thank Cathay Pacific for contributing to Breakfast for Learning,” said Jennifer White, Director of Resource Development & Communications, children’s nourishment throughout the school day is critical to their learning and health.”

Cathay Pacific participates actively in the Vancouver community. The airline looks for meaningful ways to give back to the communities in which it operates, such as the clean-up project in 2009 where Cathay Pacific staff donated their time to painting and street cleaning in Vancouver Chinatown.
