Cathay Pacific’s premium cabin wins luxury Middle East travel award

The Hong Kong-based carrier has been named Favourite International Airline Premium Cabin at the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards

Cathay Pacific has celebrated a further travel accolade after being named the Middle East’s Favourite International Airline Premium Cabin at the Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards 2017.

Celebrating 40 years of flying to Dubai this year, the Hong Kong-based airline received the popular public vote and recognition at the region’s premier travel excellence awards, voted for by readers across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and consumers of the brand.

Commenting on the win after collecting the award at the Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel, Cathay Pacific Area Manager Middle East, Jonathan Ng, said: “Cathay Pacific takes great pride in providing the very best services across all of our cabins and to have received this recognition from the readers of Condé Nast Traveller Middle East and GCC consumers is a tremendous achievement.”

Online voting took place over three months prior to the 2017 awards ceremony, which was held on 13 December in Abu Dhabi. Winners in 22 categories, ranging from destinations to hotels and airlines, were honoured at the black-tie gala.

Speaking at the event, Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Editor-in-Chief, Rhea Saran, said: “The annual Readers’ Choice Awards are particularly important because these honours are bestowed by travellers and consumers themselves – an endorsement that is hard to beat. They also tell us a lot about the way the GCC traveller is thinking and making decisions about travel.”

Cathay Pacific operates two daily flights between Dubai and Hong Kong, a daily service to Bahrain, and an additional daily flight between Dubai and Bahrain, offering onward connections to nearly 200 destinations in Asia, Australia, North America, Africa and Europe.
