Cathay Pacific promotes online schedule information
Cathay Pacific Airways' new spring schedule begins on 31 March, and is effective until 30 June. The new timetable book includes details of the additional flights to Tokyo to be launched on 1 June, and the new Sapporo service launched last year. However for the quickest access to the most up to date flight schedule Cathay Pacific recommends passengers also explore its many online information channels. Passengers can access the airline's Website - www.cathaypacific.com - for a complete system timetable and round-the-clock online booking facilities. The airline also offers a range of mobile travel planning options including a Downloadable Timetable for laptop computers, AvantGo mobile Internet for users of handheld PDA's, and WAP mobile services.
Cathay Pacific's General Manager e-Business and Regions Tim Fitzsimmons said: "We hope passengers will make use of our online channels for the latest information on our spring schedule. We have added a new daily flight to Tokyo and we hope that we will be able to restore more of our schedule if the market improves. We are committed to ensuring all the latest flight information is always available online."
The Downloadable Timetable for personal computers gives free access to a huge database of travel-related information from around the world including flight schedules, airport maps, Cathay Pacific worldwide contact details, and lounge information.
The three versions of the Downloadable Timetable are "Cathay Pacific flights only", "Cathay Pacific and Dragonair flights" and "Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and oneworld flights". The Cathay Pacific version, created for passengers who fly almost exclusively with the airline, saves download time and hard disk space. The Downloadable Timetable is updated in the middle of every month to reflect schedule changes, new telephone numbers, and additional service information. Travellers can download the latest version of the software at any time from the airline's Website.
With free client software from AvantGo, Inc., a leading provider of mobile infrastructure software and services, passengers can also browse the complete Cathay Pacific flight schedule on their PDAs or internet-enabled phones. The airline's notiFLY Flight Paging service, Marco Polo Club account balances, and worldwide contact information is also now available to them anytime and anywhere. To register for the free service users again simply follow the links from the airline's Website.
WAP service subscribers with five major providers in Hong Kong and with KG Telecommunications in Taiwan can also access Cathay Pacific's WAP site with mobile phones to check real-time flight arrival and departure times as well as flight schedules.
