Cathay Pacific offers fare discounts for the elderly in Hong Kong and Macau to mark Senior Citizens’ Day

Cathay Pacific Airways is offering a great deal for Hong Kong’s elderly people this month, with a 50 per cent discount on tickets to mark Senior Citizens’ Day on 19 November. This is the seventh consecutive year the airline has offered the discount, aimed at thanking the people who helped to build Hong Kong into the great city it is today.

The special offer, open to all Hong Kong and Macau residents aged 65 or over, allows senior citizens to purchase Economy Class tickets to selected Cathay Pacific destinations at a 50 per cent discount on the regular published or market fare. Tickets must be issued between 1-10 November and the journey should originate in Hong Kong on a Cathay Pacific-operated flight and be completed between 1 November 2006 and 31 January 2007.

This year’s senior citizen discount applies to many of the airline’s most popular Asian destinations, including Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Taipei. The offer is also valid on certain flights to London and Los Angeles.

Cathay Pacific General Manager Sales China & Hong Kong SAR, Clement Lam said: “As Hong Kong’s airline, Cathay Pacific is delighted to once again give the elderly the opportunity to fly to see loved ones, visit their favourite overseas city or explore exciting new destinations. The offer has proven to be extremely popular with our senior citizens since its launch in 2000 and is eagerly anticipated every year.”
