Cathay Pacific New York flights continue to be affected passengers advised to check latest flight information

Cathay Pacific Airways announced that the following flights on Monday (29 October) and Tuesday (30 October) have been cancelled due to the closure of public transport in New York and the approach of Hurricane Sandy to the area.

Flights CX889 on 29 October, CX888 and CX889 on 30 October will be operating between Hong Kong and Vancouver only and the sectors between Vancouver and New York will be cancelled.

“We are responding to the recommendation of the airport authority of the John F Kennedy International Airport in cancelling our flights, and it is possible that we may face further disruption. We will do all possible to recover our schedule as soon as the situation permits,” a Cathay Pacific spokesman said.

Passengers booked on the cancelled flights are advised not to go to the airport. Cathay Pacific will assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers.

The airline will waive all rebooking and rerouting charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before 28 October 2012 for travel on Cathay Pacific with confirmed bookings involving New York between 29 October and 31 October 2012. Details are available at www.cathaypacific.com

Passengers are advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website www.cathaypacific.com before departing for the airport. They are also advised to enter their contact details in the Manage My Booking function on the website to ensure they receive the latest flight updates via SMS or email.
