The fourth “I Can Fly” Canada program will run from April through June and offer high school students a rare behind-the-scenes look at the airline industry. Staffed by Cathay Pacific staff volunteers, the 8-week academy covers a range of aviation topics and explores various careers in the industry from engineering to in-flight catering to passenger sales. The program runs weekly and operates after school hours out of Vancouver International Airport or within the vicinity of downtown Vancouver.

“The previous “I Can Fly” programs were truly a successful and meaningful experience for both the students and our staff volunteer instructors,” said Lavinia Lau, Vice President Canada, Cathay Pacific. “We’re pleased to offer another group of young Canadians the opportunity to learn about the aviation industry and assist them in making future career choices.”

The “I Can Fly” program was launched in 2003 in Hong Kong and due to its success was brought to Canada for the first time in October 2009.
