Cathay Pacific flights affected by unexpected strong winds

More Cathay Pacific flights had to be diverted today due to an unexpected change in weather conditions. Strong crosswinds at Hong Kong International Airport that were not forecast meant that four in-bound Cathay Pacific flights had to be diverted. However, weather conditions are expected to improve this afternoon and the airline is hopeful that operations will be back to normal later in the evening.

The flights diverted include CX873 from San Francisco and CX881 from Los Angeles, both of which were diverted to Taipei.
