Cathay Pacific draws next 20 'World's Biggest Welcome' winners
Cathay Pacific today continued with its 'World's Biggest Welcome" festivities and drew the next 20 lucky draw winners at Times Square. Today's winners were drawn from people who nominated a friend or relative living in Europe to receive one of the 10,000 tickets that Cathay Pacific is giving away for people to visit Hong Kong.
Two more draws will also take place this week among people who elected to invite their friends and relatives from Australasia, South Africa and North America. All 100 winners from these special draws will receive two additional air tickets for their own travel and will automatically qualify for the special Grand Draw on 5 February.
Among those present at the draw were local celebrity William So, Legislative Council Member Mr Howard Young, and District Council Chairman Ms Ting Yuk Chee, Mr Suen Kai Cheong, Mr Lam Man Fai, Mr Tam Kwok Kiu, Mr Chow Yick Hay, and Mr Ip Kwok Chung.
Each day's draw follows a theme designed to highlight different aspects of Hong Kong as a world class tourist destination. Today's theme focused on great places to go in Hong Kong.
Speaking at today's ceremony, Mr Young said: "Hong Kong has many wonderful places to visit in addition to the main attractions. We have traditional shops like those in Hollywood Road, and Stanley Market. We also have the world's most fascinating harbour and beautiful beaches. The Mai Po Wetland and the Lantau Buddha are two must-see attractions. There is always something for everyone in Hong Kong. I hope we will all be good hosts to our special Cathay Pacific visitors."
Up to 30 January, the fifth day of the campaign, Cathay Pacific has already collected over 300,000 forms from the public.
Closing date for the draw is midnight of 2 February 2002. Entry form drop-off points are located at six MTR stations - Central, Admiralty, Causeway Bay, Kowloon Tong, Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tsui, and at the departure level of the Hong Kong International Airport.
