“The current closure of John F Kennedy International Airport underscores the storm’s significant impact on New York City. It may take some time for the airport to become fully functional again. While we will endeavour to restore flights as soon as possible, this may take longer than expected,” said a Cathay Pacific spokesperson.

Passengers booked on the cancelled flights are advised not to go to the airport. Cathay Pacific will assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers.

The airline will waive all rebooking and rerouting charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before 28 October 2012 for travel on Cathay Pacific with confirmed bookings involving New York between 29 October and 31 October 2012. Details are available at www.cathaypacific.com

Passengers are advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website www.cathaypacific.com before departing for the airport. They are also advised to enter their contact details in the Manage My Booking function on the website to ensure they receive the latest flight updates via SMS or email.
