Cathay Pacific and UNICEF launch Change for Good Days

Cathay Pacific and the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF have jointly organised "Change for Good Days" this weekend. This is a large-scale fund-raising event which aims to raise funds for UNICEF in aid of their health and welfare programmes in 160 developing countries around the world.

On 15 and 16 December, more than 100 Cathay Pacific and UNICEF volunteers will be collecting foreign currencies and donations from the public at 15 designated sites around Hong Kong. Generous donors who contribute HK$20 or more will receive a festive Christmas candle, while contributions of HK$120 or above will entitle the donor a commemorative teddy bear from the volunteers.

As part of Cathay Pacific's commitment to the local community, a portion of the proceeds will also go to the Cathay Pacific Wheelchair Bank, which purchase specially adapted wheelchairs from overseas for Hong Kong children suffering from neuromuscular disease.

The 15 donation sites are:
Hong Kong Island Kowloon New Territories
Central Star Ferry Concourse Grand Century Plaza New Town Plaza
Hopewell Centre Telford Plaza Tsuen Wan Plaza
East Point City Lok Fu Centre Metroplaza
Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre Maritime Square
Kowloon City Plaza Luk Yeung Galleria
  Amoy Plaza Yuen Long Plaza

Cathay Pacific and UNICEF have been working together since 1991 on the "Change for Good" inflight fund raising programme. Over the past 10 years, more than HK$32.5 million have been raised to support UNICEF's relief programmes worldwide.
