Cathay Pacific and now.com.hk get people to do the ‘Po Po’

Cathay Pacific Airways today gave away two trips to Beijing to people who showed they could “Po Po”. The giveaway was part of the “Embrace the World of Music“ street performance staged at Harbour City Open Piazza One, jointly sponsored by now.com.hk.

“Po Po” means “embrace” in Chinese and is also the name given to an especially composed salsa song and dance. It is hoped that young Hong Kong people can reach out to the world by getting into the “Po Po” spirit.

Some 200 Hong Kong people, joined by pop artists like Chet Lam and Eman Lam@at17, came together to sing the “Po Po” song and do the “Po Po” dance. Every person had to give someone a hug to take part.

Two “Po Po Tours – Journeys to Embrace the World” tours to Beijing were given away free in a “Po Po” Game so that the winners could learn more about the city’s culture. Beijing natives The Twelve Girls Band featured at the first “Po Po” Concert earlier this year at which Miriam Yeung and at 17 also performed.

Two more “Po Po” events will be organised on 4th December and 11th December at other outdoor venues in Hong Kong. Those who take part will have a chance to win “Po Po” Tours to Japan and London.

As Hong Kong’s airline, Cathay Pacific frequently sponsors and organises cultural events in the city. “Po Po Leung Yum” gives Hong Kong people a chance to see the world and learn more about other cultures.
