Cathay Pacific and Dragonair kick-start ‘Fanfares’ first anniversary celebration with 200 ‘Birthday Bonanza’ tickets
“fanfares” was first launched in October 2012 and has been offering highly attractive fares from Hong Kong to 11 destinations each week, from 8am every Tuesday. Since its launch, “fanfares” has covered a total of 71 destinations in 25 countries across the extensive Cathay Pacific and Dragonair networks. The offer has underscored the Cathay Pacific Group’s commitment to offering great value in its home market.
The offer has received an overwhelming response with more than 9 million visits to the “fanfares” website and over 140,000 sectors sold to date. The fares on offer to holiday hotspots such as the Maldives (HK$2890) and Sapporo (HK$2990) served by Cathay Pacific, and Qingdao (HK$790) and Fukuoka (HK$1590) served by Dragonair sold out in less than one hour.
The “Birthday Bonanza” will kick-start with a “FanVan” that travels around different parts of the city on the coming four consecutive Tuesdays. People will get the chance to win 200 free tickets by flagging down the “FanVan” with the unique “FanVan Pose”. Even more exciting to follow are early bird fares to many popular regional and long-haul destinations, lucky draws to win 15,000 Asia Miles, complimentary hotel vouchers across Cathay Pacific Holidays and Dragonair Holidays’ hotel networks, along with some incredibly attractive fares.
Cathay Pacific Chief Operating Officer and Dragonair Board Director Ivan Chu said: “We are excited to see that ‘fanfares’ has been so well received by the Hong Kong public. Cathay Pacific and Dragonair are committed to providing outstanding products and services for passengers, and great value in our home market. ‘fanfares’ is a fantastic opportunity to experience our award-winning full-service offerings at very attractive fares. The first thing many people do on Tuesday morning now is to check out the ‘fanfares’ site, and we know this offer has given many more Hong Kong people the opportunity to travel.”
“fanfares” features a mix of regional and long-haul destinations, last-minute fares and advance bookings. Value-conscious travellers, retirees, and all others with flexible travel schedule will enjoy the excitement and super value of last-minute getaways, while those who need to plan in advance can book up to a few months ahead of their travel date and still enjoy great deals.
