The added frequency from Los Angeles comes on top of Cathay Pacific’s new daily direct service from Newark to Hong Kong, launched on March 1, 2014, which complements the airline’s four-times-daily service from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York. Cathay Pacific also operates two daily flights from San Francisco and a daily flight from Chicago, which will increase to 10 flights per week from August 2, 2014.

Cathay Pacific Senior Vice President, Americas, Tom Owen, said, “There is an essential reason why we’ve increased flight frequencies from Los Angeles – customer demand.  Customers have repeatedly told us that they want more choice in departure times and connections, so we are delivering just that.  The morning departure from Hong Kong to Los Angeles will give passengers the option of a morning arrival into the city, with a range of onward connections to other US cities.

The fourth Los Angeles frequency is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with a consistent product offering of First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class seats and Cathay Pacific’s award-winning cabin services.
