Book Now, Pay Later: Cathay Pacific partners with Atome to offer travellers in Malaysia new flexible payment option

Travellers in Malaysia will now have access to a convenient 0% interest instalment payment option when they book online with Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific has partnered with Atome, Asia’s leading buy now pay later brand, to offer travellers in Malaysia the flexibility of booking their flights first and paying for it later. The “Book Now Pay Later” feature provides travellers with another convenient way to pay for their flights when they book on www.cathaypacific.com.

This new payment feature will allow travellers in Malaysia to seamlessly book and enjoy their getaways first, and spread out the cost of their tickets into three easy deferred payments, with no interest and administrative fees incurred. To pay, users simply download the Atome app and register, before selecting Atome as the checkout payment option on the Cathay Pacific website.

Cathay Pacific is the first full-service carrier to partner with Atome in Malaysia.

Discounts and flight tickets giveaway

To coincide with the launch of the partnership in Malaysia, Atome users in Malaysia will enjoy RM250 off (with minimum spend of RM1,000) when they book their flights on www.cathaypacific.com, capped at the first 200 redemptions, between 10 to 28 April 2023.

As part of the launch promotions, two round-trip air tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific are also up for grabs. More details will be announced in due course.

The Cathay Pacific partnership launch is also part of Atome's week-long "Time to Travel" campaign from 10-16 April where users can enjoy travel discounts and giveaways.

Regional General Manager of Cathay Pacific Southeast Asia & Southwest Pacific, Dominic Perret, said: “Following a successful launch in Singapore, we are very happy to be partnering with Atome in Malaysia to offer our customers there greater flexibility when they fly with us. As we continue to give our customers the best value and assurance when they book directly via our website, this new payment option will provide an additional benefit to those who prefer to pay for their travels later, and over a number of months. It is also timely, with testing requirements for passengers arriving into or transiting through Hong Kong having been removed and given the strong demand we are seeing for travel to and beyond our home city.”

Regional Head of Commercial at Atome, William Yang said: “Our regional partnership with Cathay Pacific comes as Malaysia and the world are allowing the normal resumption of leisure and business travel. We are excited to play our part in supporting this post Covid-19 recovery by enabling travellers in Malaysia to have flexible and convenient payment options to book their much-awaited holiday or business trips.”
