Bali flights resume today, Surabaya service may be delayed
Cathay Pacific Airways advises passengers that its flights to and from Denpasar in Bali are expected to resume this morning (Saturday, 29 January). The airline plans to operate a total of three return services to and from the Indonesian island, including today’s scheduled flights and two services that were delayed from previous days due to the ash cloud situation.
However, there is still a possibility that the situation could change during the day and passengers are advised to check the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, to get the latest updated information on their flights.
According to this morning’s forecast the ash cloud is still affecting certain areas of East Indonesia, and the airline’s scheduled service to Surabaya today, due to depart Hong Kong at 15.55, may be subject to delay.

A Cathay Pacific spokesperson said: “We are pleased that we can recommence flights to and from Bali today. This was a difficult situation for all concerned but safety has to be the primary concern for our operations. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we thank all our passengers for their understanding and patience.”
Given that the ash cloud situation is still volatile, passengers heading to Surabaya and Bali in the coming days are advised to check the latest flight information at the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, and to input their contact details in the Manage My Booking function at the website to ensure they get the latest flight information via SMS or email.
