Tropical Cyclone Hato - Flight disruptions updates
Passengers are strongly advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, before departing for the airport. Those without confirmed bookings must not go to the airport.
The airlines appeal to passengers to postpone or cancel non-essential travel as additional flight cancellations, diversions and/ or delays are anticipated due to the expected backlog of passengers and busy air traffic. The airlines will waive fees on rebooking, rerouting and refunding for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 21 August for travel on Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon involving Hong Kong between 23 and 24 August (Hong Kong time). For details, please refer to http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_HK/travel-information/travel-preparation/travel-advisories/special-ticketing-guideline-for-hato.html.
A Cathay Pacific spokesperson said: “The safety of our passengers and crew has always been our top priority. We understand that the flight disruptions are likely to cause inconvenience and we are trying very hard to provide alternative flight arrangements for affected passengers.”
To ensure customers receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email, they are advised to update their contact details in Manage Booking at our website.
The airlines will continue to monitor the situation closely and will issue further updates should there be any changes to the flight schedule.
