Senior management changes at Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific today announced the appointment of Ms Chitty Cheung as Director Corporate Affairs.

Ms Cheung will take over from Ms Quince Chong who will be leaving the company to take up a position in another industry.

Ms Cheung is currently General Manager Sales Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong. She will take up her new responsibilities over the summer.

Prior to taking up her present position in August 2009, Ms Cheung, who joined Cathay Pacific as a management trainee in 1987, served in a number of key management positions in Hong Kong covering commercial, planning and cargo aspects of the business.

She also acquired valuable overseas experience during her career working in Cathay Pacific offices in Penang, Los Angeles and London, where she was Regional General Manager Europe.

Announcing the changes, Cathay Pacific Chief Executive John Slosar said: “Chitty brings a remarkable breadth and depth of experience to the senior leadership team at Cathay Pacific.

“Her extensive background in the industry both in Hong Kong and overseas and her network of contacts within the community will be a real asset as we pursue our exciting growth plans as Hong Kong’s home carrier.”

Mr. Slosar paid tribute to Ms Chong’s outstanding contribution to the company over the last 14 years.

“Quince is widely recognised in the industry and in the wider community for her great professional and managerial skills. We wish her well as she moves on to take up new career challenges,” Mr. Slosar said.
