Cathay Pacific Group Fact Sheet

The Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Group’s network of passenger and cargo services covers over 200 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, Europe and Africa, with around 240 aircraft in the Group’s fleet as of 30 June 2020. There are four airlines in the Cathay Pacific Group:

  • Cathay Pacific, an international network airline.
  • Cathay Dragon, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, which focuses on providing services to destinations across Asia, including more than 20 cities in the Chinese mainland.
  • HK Express, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, which operates as a stand-alone low-cost carrier.
  • AHK Air Hong Kong, an all-cargo carrier wholly owned by Cathay Pacific operating regional express freight services.

Cathay Pacific is a member of the Swire group and is a public company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. 

Cathay Pacific is a founder member of the oneworld global alliance and Cathay Dragon is an affiliate member.

Number of People

As of 30 June 2020, the Group employs more than 33,000 people worldwide. Around 27,600 of these people are based in Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon employ around 21,000 people in Hong Kong. There are also around 1,100 employees at HK Express, the Group’s stand-alone low-cost carrier.

Cathay Pacific is a founder member of the oneworld alliance. Member airlines include: Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SriLankan Airlines. These airlines serve more than 1,000 airports in over 170 territories. Cathay Dragon became an affiliate oneworld member on 1 November 2007. 

Asia Miles

Cathay Pacific is a partner of Asia Miles, Asia's leading travel and lifestyle rewards programme. Asia Miles has over 800 partners, including 26 airline partners, and more than 12 million members. Members can earn and redeem Asia Miles to over 1,000 destinations worldwide.
