Cathay Pacific Group Fact Sheet

The Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Group offers scheduled passenger and cargo services to over 200 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, Europe and Africa, using a fleet of around 240 aircraft. There are four airlines in the Cathay Pacific Group:

  • Cathay Pacific, an international network airline. 

  • Cathay Dragon, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific which focuses on providing services to destinations across Asia, including more than 20 cities in Chinese mainland. 

  • Hong Kong Express, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, which operates as a stand-alone low-cost carrier.
  • AHK Air Hong Kong, an all-cargo carrier operating regional express freight services, which is wholly owned by Cathay Pacific. 

Cathay Pacific is a member of the Swire group and is a public company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Cathay Pacific is a founder member of the oneworld global alliance and Cathay Dragon is an affiliate member.

Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon employ 20,000 people in Hong Kong, making the company one of Hong Kong's biggest employers.

There are also 1,000 employees at HK Express, the stand-alone low-cost carrier.

The Group employs around 33,000 people worldwide.


Cathay Pacific is a founder member of the oneworld alliance. Member airlines include: Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LATAM Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airlines, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SriLankan Airlines. These airlines serve more than 1,000 airports in over 150 countries. Cathay Dragon became an affiliate oneworld member on 1 November 2007.

Cathay Pacific is a partner of Asia Miles, Asia's leading travel and lifestyle rewards programme. Asia Miles has over 800 partners, including 26 airline partners, and more than 12 million members. Members can earn and redeem Asia Miles to over 1,000 destinations worldwide.
