Wednesday, August 1, 2018 — Cathay Pacific has become the Official Airline Partner of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China from 2018 to 2022, providing support for home-grown athletes to participate in a series of high-profile events, including next month’s Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
Cathay Pacific Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Paul Loo said at the Flag Presentation Ceremony for the city’s delegation to the 18th Asian Games that the four-year sponsorship agreement underscored the airline’s long-standing commitment to its home of Hong Kong.
He said: “The Hong Kong sporting scene has come a long way and we have seen many of our athletes excel in regional and international competitions, much to the delight of everyone. As the home carrier of Hong Kong we are proud of their achievements and are honoured to play a part in supporting them to fulfill their dreams and inspire the next generation of Hong Kong sports stars.”
