Cathay Pacific warns that delays and diversions are still possible

Cathay Pacific Airways today (14 August) announced that although the weather situation is improving at Hong Kong International Airport, diversion or delay to individual flights are still possible due to unstable weather and potential air traffic control. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, before departing for the airport.

Passengers are encouraged to defer non-essential travel today (14 August) and tomorrow (15 August). The airline will waive re-booking fees for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 12 August for travel on Cathay Pacific between 18:00 on 13 August (Hong Kong time) and 15 August.

Passengers without confirmed bookings are advised not to go to the airport.  Cathay Pacific will assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers.

To ensure customers receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email, they are advised to update their contact details in Manage My Booking at www.cathaypacific.com.

The airline will continue to monitor the situation closely and will issue further updates should there be any changes to the flight schedule.
