Cathay Pacific strengthens links to the Pearl River Delta

Cathay Pacific has become the first airline to provide passengers with a dedicated check-in service at the recently upgraded Shekou Cruise Port in Shenzhen city.

In a continuing effort to strengthen connectivity between Mainland China and Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific and Shenzhen CMSK International Cruise Home Port have signed a strategic cooperation agreement relating to service promotion, marketing and cruise products.

“Whether on business or leisure travel, Kiwis will appreciate Cathay Pacific’s seamless service between our flights from Auckland to Hong Kong and the high speed ferry to the Pearl River Delta region,” says Mark Pirihi, Cathay Pacific Country Manager in New Zealand and Pacific Islands.

In line with the airline’s ethos to put its passengers first and to maintain a consistent premium experience at every stage of their journey, the Cathay Pacific check-in counters in Shekou help provide customers a convenient one-stop service including baggage drop and boarding and lounge pass issuance, in addition to customs and immigration facilities at a single location.

On arrival at Hong Kong International Airport, passengers can step straight from the ferry to their Cathay Pacific or Cathay Dragon flight, take the opportunity to indulge in some leisurely pre-flight shopping or relax in one of Cathay Pacific’s critically-acclaimed lounges before boarding.
