Cathay Pacific’s refurbished First and Business Class lounge enhances travel experience flying out of Frankfurt

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced the reopening of its First and Business Class lounge in Frankfurt International Airport following extensive refurbishment. The 370-square-metre lounge, located in Terminal 2 and opposite Gates E6 to E9, will offer greater comfort and convenience for passengers departing on Cathay Pacific flights from Frankfurt.

Cathay Pacific General Manager Product Alex McGowan said: “This is part of our ongoing effort to enhance our product and service, both in the air and on the ground, providing passengers with a whole new experience when flying Cathay Pacific. We opened a new lounge at London Heathrow Airport in July 2010 and in October the same year unveiled a new lounge in Hong Kong, The Cabin. Renovation of our signature lounge, The Wing, is now in progress and we're planning further enhancements which we'll announce in due course.”

The design of the renovated Frankfurt lounge is modelled on the airline’s award-winning lounges in Hong Kong. The reception area is built with Carrara white marble, one of the key components adopted from The Wing and The Pier at Hong Kong International Airport. Another common feature is the Long Table, which has been adopted from The Wing. Works of art, specially designed for Cathay Pacific by Hong Kong artist Maria Lobo, are displayed to enhance the ambience of the lounge.

To enable passengers to relax and refresh, Cathay Pacific’s newly renovated lounge in Frankfurt provides comfortable armchairs for up to 97 guests and three shower units. An attendant is on hand to provide fresh towels and other amenities upon request.

The dining area features an improved buffet spread offering a selection of warm and cold Western and Asian dishes, drinks, warm soup, sandwiches, salad, fresh bread, fruits and desserts. A new feature is the snack line located in the front of the lounge.

Desktop computers with internet access and printers have been installed in the lounge. A selection of local and international newspapers is also available to keep passengers up to date with the latest news around the world.

The Cathay Pacific lounge in Frankfurt Airport is open from 6:00am to 2:00pm and from 6:00 until midnight. Access to the lounge is open to First and Business Class passengers travelling on Cathay Pacific and oneworld carriers, and for members of the Marco Polo Club with Silver Card status and above, Cargo Clan Elite members, oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members.
