Cathay Pacific partners with Miramar Group to launch new inflight menu promotion

Hong Kong’s home carrier and Miramar Group have joined together to launch an exciting new inflight menu promotion. Starting from May, the same delectable Chinese and Western dishes found at Miramar Group restaurants will be served to First Class, Business Class and Economy Class passengers onboard Cathay Pacific flights.

Over 90 dishes designed by the chefs at the restaurants will be introduced into the Cathay Pacific menus from 1 May to 31 July 2011 for the majority of flights departing from Hong Kong. The promotion will run for three months to offer passengers the chance to sample the creations by the following award-winning Miramar Group restaurants:

• Cuisine Cuisine at IFC Mall Central

• Cuisine Cuisine at The Mira (*Michelin 2 stars)

• The French Window

• Tsui Hang Village Restaurant in Central

• Tsui Hang Village Restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui

• WHISK

• Yamm

• Yunyan Sichuan Restaurant

Dishes being served include double-boiled soup with assorted vegetables stuffed in bamboo fungus by Cuisine Cuisine at the IFC; iced abalone with cucumber and bean sheet, served with wasabi soy dressing by Cuisine Cuisine at The Mira; braised lamb shoulder with pan-fried polenta and roasted celeriac by The French Window; wok-seared sea bass fillet with premium light soy sauce by Tsui Hang Village Restaurant in Central; shredded roasted duck with mango, jelly fish and sesame dressing by Tsui Hang Village Restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui; poached veal fillet, vegetables pot au feu, fingerling potatoes and horseradish sauce by WHISK; seafood salad with mushroom and basil by Yamm; and steamed chicken in spicy chilli rice flour with taros and sweet potatoes by Yunyan Sichuan Restaurant.

Speaking at a preview luncheon for the promotion, Cathay Pacific Director Corporate Affairs Quince Chong said: “As Hong Kong’s home carrier, Cathay Pacific is committed to promoting Hong Kong as an exciting destination and food paradise for visitors from all over the world. We are delighted to join hands with Miramar Group in our latest, most extensive inflight menu promotion thus far, featuring eight highly regarded restaurants, covering both Chinese and Western cuisines.”

Miramar Group Vice President - F&B Operations & Development, Mr Nelson Chow said: “Passengers nowadays want to be delighted and a pleasurable in-flight menu can definitely heighten their experience flying with an airline. Cuisine Cuisine (at IFC Mall Central)

Located at IFC Mall in Central, Cuisine Cuisine takes a fashionable location and a contemporary, elegant décor and mixes it up with a combination of traditional and nouvelle Cantonese cuisine along with one of the best wine selections in Hong Kong. Cuisine Cuisine was granted the “Excellent Brand of Business Banquet” award by “Hong Kong Leaders’ Choice 2011”, confirming it as the choice venue for political, financial and business functions. The French Window

The restaurant’s design was modelled after a French chateau with a welcoming contrast of nostalgia and modernity and was awarded the “2010 Hospitality Design Awards – Fine Dining Category” by New York’s Hospitality Design Magazine. With two convenient locations in Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, Tsui Hang Village Restaurant has captured the true essence of Cantonese cuisine, with dishes featuring quality traditional ingredients that are perfectly marinated and seasoned to guarantee the cherished flavours of Hong Kong’s best-loved local dishes. Tsui Hang Village Restaurant won the “Gold Award – Seafood: Fish, Prawn, Crab” by Best of the Best Culinary Awards 2010 and was recommended in the prestigious “Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2009” and “Hong Kong’s Best Restaurants 2010”.

WHISK

WHISK at The Mira Hong Kong showcases the finest French gastronomy, infused with subtle Asian touches, masterminded by Chef William Girard and served in an elegant yet relaxed environment. Chef William has created a menu of the finest delicacies, served in the main restaurant as well as in WHISK’s private dining rooms. Yamm
