Cathay Pacific introduces new award-winning Aria Suite Business class, new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy experiences to Los Angeles

Cathay Pacific’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER arrives in the airline’s third North American gateway

Cathay Pacific, a top three airline in the world as distinguished by Skytrax, is excited to announce that its award-winning Aria Suite Business class, reimagined Premium Economy cabin and refreshed Economy experiences aboard its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER are coming to selected flights on its Los Angeles-Hong Kong route starting 4 April, 2026. The aircraft will be initially deployed once per week and increase to daily flights starting 1 May, 2026, on flight CX884 from Hong Kong to Los Angeles starting, and on flight CX885 from Los Angeles to Hong Kong. Los Angeles is the third North American gateway — following San Francisco and Vancouver — to welcome the airline’s next-generation cabin designs.

Cathay is proud to have been recognized with multiple accolades in the World’s Best Airlines for 2026 awards organized by AirlineRatings, a global airline safety and product rating organization. Cathay Pacific has been named second in the World’s Best Full-Service Airlines category, in addition to winning the World’s Best Business Class for its Aria Suite cabins and the World’s Best Airline-Branded Lounges.

The new Aria Suite offers a spacious, private, and intuitively designed Business class environment, with every detail reflecting the airline’s commitment to human-centric design and craftsmanship. The suite sets a new standard for Business class comfort and innovation, with customizable ambiance including privacy doors and multiple lighting settings, as well as enhanced technology such as Bluetooth enabled headphone pairing and a 24-inch 4K ultra-high definition screen, the largest ever on a Cathay Pacific aircraft.

Premium Economy has been completely reimagined with enhanced privacy, upgraded seating and thoughtful storage solutions. Meanwhile, customers travelling in Skytrax’s World’s Best Economy Class will enjoy refreshed seating and an updated cabin environment. Customers across all cabins can enjoy Skytrax's World’s Best Inflight Entertainment featuring new user capabilities including lavatory availability status.

The new cabin designs are key elements of Cathay Pacific’s vision to be the world’s best premium airline by enhancing its global offering and providing customers with exceptional in-flight comfort. It is part of the well over HK$100 billion (about US$12.8 billion) being invested by the Cathay Group in its fleet, cabin products, airport lounges and digital innovation. The Cathay Group now has more than 100 state-of-the-art narrowbody, regional widebody, long-haul widebody and large freighter aircraft on order to support the commitment.

Cathay Senior Vice President, Americas Cindy Lam said: “Since launching the gateway in 1990, Los Angeles has been a cornerstone of our North American network. We are thrilled to introduce these new inflight experiences to customers on the non-stop service, especially as we celebrate Cathay’s 80th anniversary this year. Bringing this elevated product to a third gateway in the region is especially meaningful, reflecting our commitment to becoming our customers’ most loved service brand.”

The past year has been one of major network expansion for Cathay with 20 destinations launched by Cathay Pacific and its low-cost carrier HK Express. The two airlines now collectively connect customers to more than 100 destinations around the world via their home hub, Hong Kong. Last year, Cathay Pacific introduced its first direct passenger service between Dallas–Fort Worth and Hong Kong — a route that quickly expanded to daily frequency thanks to strong demand and remains the only nonstop link between Texas and Hong Kong. In 2026, the airline’s North American presence will grow even further with the launch of its Seattle–Hong Kong service in March.

Lam added: “This summer, we also look forward to welcoming customers to our first ever Cathay Pacific Lounge in New York when we begin operating from John F. Kennedy International Airport’s new state-of-the-art Terminal 6. We are truly excited to bring new experiences both in the air and on the ground to customers across North America, all while continuing to deliver the heartfelt hospitality that defines Cathay.”

Cathay Pacific currently operates 21 nonstop return flights per week between Los Angeles and Hong Kong, and more than 100 nonstop return flights per week between North America and Hong Kong, offering seamless onward connections to the Group’s global network.
