Cathay Pacific expects normal operations today but passengers advised to check latest flight information

Cathay Pacific Airways today (Saturday, 6 August) announced that based on the latest weather forecast, the airline plans to operate as normal to and from Shanghai today. However, flights are subject to delays in the evening.

“Flights to Eastern China are likely to be disrupted tomorrow as Severe Typhoon Muifa moves closer to the country’s eastern coast and more updates will be available this evening. We are advising passengers to postpone their travel plans if possible,” a Cathay Pacific spokesman said.

The airline will waive all rebooking charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before 5 August 2011 for travel on Cathay Pacific or Dragonair with confirmed bookings involving Shanghai Pudong, Shanghai Hongqiao, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Nanjing between 6 August and 8 August 2011. Details are available at www.cathaypacific.com.

Passengers are reminded that the situation can change rapidly and are advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, before departing for the airport. To ensure customers receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email, they are advised to update their contact details through the Manage My Booking function at the website.
