Cathay Pacific Advises Passengers Without Confirmed Bookings Not To Go To Airport And Check Latest Flight Information Online

Cathay Pacific Airways advises those passengers without confirmed bookings or whose flights have been cancelled not to go to Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) as the chance of securing a seat on standby basis at the check-in counters is very low.

The airline is actively assisting passengers whose flights are cancelled with alternative arrangements. Passengers should check the latest flight information on the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, before departing for the airport.

Meanwhile, those with confirmed bookings are advised not to arrive at the airport more than three hours before the estimated departure time of their flight.

As previously announced, Cathay Pacific will cancel its flights departing and arriving at HKIA from 18:00 (Hong Kong time) today (22 September). The airline plans to gradually resume services on Monday (23 September) when weather and safety conditions permit.

The airline is monitoring the situation closely and will issue further advice on the resumption of flight services.  It is anticipated that disruptions will continue on 23 September due to the impact of adverse weather and operational constraints.

Cathay Pacific will waive re-booking fees for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 20 September for travel on its flights between 22 September (Hong Kong time) and 24 September.

To ensure they receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email, customers are advised to update their contact details in Manage My Booking at www.cathaypacific.com.

Cathay Pacific will continue to monitor the situation closely and will issue further updates once more information becomes available. The airline regrets any inconvenience this may cause and hopes for passengers’ understanding.
