Cathay announces management changes in Southeast Asia and Oceania
New Regional, Area and Country Heads to oversee all aspects of business across key markets, including travel, lifestyle, cargo and operations.
Cathay is pleased to announce changes to key management roles across the region as it continues to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The leadership announcement follows the integration of the Southeast Asia and Oceania regions, with the new structure enabling closer collaboration and greater efficiency, while continuing to steer growth and deliver exceptional service for customers across markets within the region.
Cathay’s Southeast Asia & Oceania regional appointments are as follows:
- Frosti Lau, Regional General Manager, Southeast Asia & Oceania. He was previously Regional General Manager, Southwest Pacific.
With 25 years with the Cathay Group, Frosti has held leadership roles across commercial, cargo, and operations in Hong Kong, as well as regional leadership positions in the Chinese Mainland, South Africa and Oceania. Notably, Frosti pioneered the establishment of Cathay's first Cargo Digital team and later the Cargo Customer Experience team to further enhance Cathay Cargo’s leadership in digital innovation and customer experience. Throughout his career, Frosti has consistently driven operational excellence, enhanced customer experience, and spearheaded global business transformation.
- Jonathan Ng, Regional Head of Customer Travel and Lifestyle, Southeast Asia & Oceania. He was previously Regional Head of Customer Travel and Lifestyle, Southeast Asia.
Jonathan joined Cathay in 2011 and has worked in several key positions across various markets in the Chinese Mainland and the Middle East. Prior to his role as Regional Head of Customer Travel and Lifestyle, Jonathan was seconded to HK Express as General Manager, Corporate Planning, where he was part of the transition team following Cathay’s acquisition of the low-cost carrier, with key responsibilities in network and fleet planning, regulatory liaison and corporate affairs.
- Ashish Kapur, Regional Head of Cargo, Southeast Asia & Oceania. He was previously Regional Head of Cargo, Southeast Asia.
Ashish’s career with Cathay spans over 24 years, with extensive leadership experience across India, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Over the past two years, he has been leading the cargo business in Southeast Asia, driving strategic growth, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing service delivery across a diverse and fast-growing region.
- Lynn See, Regional Head of People, Southeast Asia & Oceania. She was previously Regional Head of People, Southeast Asia.
Lynn joined Cathay in 2021 and has led the People team with a strong focus on talent development, organisational design, and dynamic people strategies. As Regional Head of People for Southeast Asia & Oceania, Lynn is passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences, cultivating an inclusive and vibrant culture, and enabling business success across the region.
- Steve Cheung, Regional Head of Finance, Southeast Asia & Oceania. He was previously Regional Head of Finance, Northeast Asia.
Steve has spent over 12 years at Cathay, advancing from finance operations in Hong Kong to regional leadership roles across Northeast Asia and now Southeast Asia & Oceania. He has led strategic financial planning, budgeting, and commercial initiatives to drive business growth and operational efficiency across key markets.
- Adam Nelson, Regional Head of Engineering, Southeast Asia & Oceania. He was previously Regional Head of Engineering, Southwest Pacific.
Adam joined Cathay in 1999 and has worked his way from Part Time Mechanic to a senior leadership role overseeing engineering operations. Now Regional Head of Engineering for Southeast Asia & Oceania, he will continue to lead its engineering operations and third-party businesses.
- Dominic Vallado, Regional Head of Airports, Southeast Asia & Oceania. He was previously Regional Head of Airports, Southeast Asia.
Dominic first joined Cathay as a Customer Services Agent in 1994, and barring a three-year stint in the Middle East, has been in the organisation since. Having held key airport leadership roles in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and now across Southeast Asia & Oceania, he continues to drive operational excellence, enhance customer experience, and champion the highest level of safety culture across the region’s airports.
The following are the new Area Heads and Country Managers, who will lead efforts to boost Cathay’s lines of business in their respective countries:
- Kelly Tsang, Area Head, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. She was previously Country Manager, Thailand.
Kelly joined the Swire Management Programme in 2016, and has held several roles in Cathay, from developing airport premium service strategy and managing lounges in over 80 destinations worldwide, to delivering customer insights as well as learning programmes for customer-facing teams.
- Nicolas Masse, Area Head, Singapore and Malaysia. He was previously Area Head, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Nicolas has over two decades of experience in the aviation industry. He joined Cathay in 2007, and has since held several key positions overseeing sales, marketing and communications in both Europe and Asia. He also served as Country Manager, Korea, overseeing operations and commercial facets of both passenger and cargo.
- Tony Sham and Vishnu Rajendran remain Country Heads of Indonesia and the Philippines respectively.
The appointments follow the Cathay Group’s 2025 Interim Results on 6 August 2025, with the Group’s announcement of a HK$3.7 billion profit in the first half of 2025 and the exercise of purchase rights for an additional 14 new Boeing 777-9 aircraft amid a solid performance.
